On the evening of July 26th, the 15th Workshop for European Diplomats concluded its 4-day trip through Henan Province with a satisfying visit to Zhengzhou, the provincial capital city. After exploring the Central Plains with curiosity, more than 19 diplomats from over 10 European countries, including Hungary, Croatia, Poland, Greece, Germany, and the Netherlands, all had praise for the city’s technology, culture, and talented individuals. They traveled thousands of miles from Europe to the Central Plains and witnessed the vibrant development of this ancient land.
7月26日晚，第十五届欧洲外交官研讨班，进行为期4天的河南之行后，在省会郑州圆满结业。从欧洲到中原，见证这片古老土地的蓬勃今朝。来自匈牙利、克罗地亚、波兰、希腊、德国、荷兰等10余个欧洲国家的19名外交官在满怀好奇行走中原之后，不约而同地为河南科技、河南文化、河南人才点赞。

“河南科技，挺厉害的”

During the visit to Yutong Bus' New Energy Plant, a Dutch diplomat boarded one of the autonomous new energy vehicles. Curious, he asked, \"What is the top speed of this vehicle? Is it 30 km/h?\" When he heard that it could reach speeds of over 50 km/h, he couldn't help but exclaim, \"Henan's technology is really impressive!\"
在参观郑州的宇通客车股份有限公司新能源厂区时，一位荷兰外交官坐上宇通新能源无人驾驶车，他好奇地问：“这个时速能达到多少？是30km/h？”在听说可以达到50km/h以上的时候，他不禁发出惊叹：“河南科技，挺厉害的！”
Jack Li, CEO of Yutong Bus Europe, a leading player in the new energy field in Henan, said:
The European bus industry is also incredibly strong! Europe can even be considered the birthplace of buses. We (Yutong) have been in the European market for about 13 years, and we have gone through many difficulties and challenges. The visit of European diplomats to Yutong gives us a chance to get to know each other better. Of course, our development also relies on mutual understanding and cooperation with Europe.
In addition, on the topic of new energy technology in general as one of Henan's competitive advantages, he said, \"We plan to focus on new energy, which allows us to complement the European industry and contribute to Europe's low-carbon transformation, energy conservation and emission reduction.\"
作为河南新能源企业领跑者，宇通客车欧洲大区经理李克杰称：“欧洲客车业也是非常强大的！欧洲甚至可以说是客车的发源地，我们（宇通）进入欧洲市场已有约13年的时间，可以说中间经历了很多的困难和挑战，本次欧洲使团来访，给了我们一个互相增进了解的机会，当然我们的发展也离不开与欧洲的互相理解与合作。”同时，李克杰也提到了一项河南的优势科技——新能源，他说：“我们接下来准备主打新能源，这点可以使我们与欧洲产业实现互补，为欧洲的低碳转型、节能减排目标的实现，做出宇通的贡献。”
The diplomats were interested in experiencing and taking photos with the new energy RVs, buses and unmanned vehicles during the visit to the New Energy Plant.

The Central Plains culture’s unique charm.

中原文化散发独特魅力

The diplomats were deeply interested in Henan's rich historical and cultural heritage, with one saying “We are delighted to experience the charm of Chinese traditional culture here in Henan...” The Henan Museum, Shaolin Temple, Longmen Grottoes, Luoyang Museum, and Gao'gou Village in Xinmi City all made a profound impression on them.

“很开心能在河南领略中国传统文化的魅力……”面对河南深厚的历史文化，外交官们充满了兴趣。河南博物院、少林寺、龙门石窟、洛阳博物馆、新密市高沟村等给他们留下了深刻的印象。

At the millennium-old Shaolin Temple, Hungarian diplomat István Bela Pokorádi, the head of the delegation, said, \"This place holds a splendid culture, and we also have some young Hungarians studying here, learning Kung Fu.\" He was surprised to discover Hungarian wine while visiting Zhengzhou International Hub Development and Construction Co., Ltd. He expressed that it is through mutual understanding that a favorable atmosphere of mutual benefit, harmony, and friendship can be fostered, contributing to win-win opportunities.

在千年古刹少林寺，本次来访的团长、匈牙利外交官伊什特万·博古拉迪介绍说：“这里有灿烂的文化，我们匈牙利也有一些年轻人在这里留学，学功夫。”在参观郑州国际陆港公司时，这位匈牙利外交官还惊讶地发现了匈牙利的酒。他表示，正是通过“互相理解彼此”，才打造出互利双赢、和谐友好的良好氛围。

During this trip, there was a special stop for the diplomats: a visit to the Zhengzhou Foreign Language School. As the young hosts of Zhengzhou, student volunteers from this school led the diplomats on a school tour, using English as the primary language of communication. They also simulated a United Nations conference, showcasing the impressive abilities of the young students from Zhengzhou. At the Model United Nations (MUN) conference, more than 20 young “diplomats\" discussed international affairs and climate change issues with the European diplomats, and their excellent performance received unanimous praise from the visiting diplomats.

在本次行程中，有特殊的一站，就是参观访问郑州外国语中学。作为郑州的小主人，郑州外国语学校的学生志愿者们用全英带领各位外交官们参观，并模拟联合国会议，展示郑州青年学生的风采。在模联会上，20多名“小外交官”与欧洲外交官畅谈国际大事，讨论气候变化的议题，他们的良好表现，得到了外交官们的一致夸赞。

This trip to the Central Plains gave European diplomats a closer and more intimate look at Henan, leading to a deeper understanding of the region. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the European Union, bringing frequent economic and trade exchanges and close cultural interactions between Europe and Zhengzhou. Through this visit, European diplomats have become even more hopeful and optimistic about the future.中原之行、郑州之旅，走得越近，了解越深。今年是中国和欧盟建立全面战略伙伴关系20周年，欧洲和郑州的经贸往来频繁、人文交流密切。通过此行，欧洲的外交官们对未来更加充满了期待。
